Washington Beef
Washington State is known as the Evergreen State with exceptionally clean air and water.  There is only one coal-fired power plant in WA, and it only contributes 4.3% of the total power generated here.  The sole nuclear power plant produces 3.7% of the total WA power.  Hydroelectric power accounts for about 71% of the power produced in WA.  Solar and wind power are growing, and now accounts for about 10% of the total power produced in WA.  So, we are very nature and renewable oriented.
We raise our crops and animals the same way.  We use minimum chemical fertilizer with more and more organic farming in our state each day.  The manufacturing and distribution of commercial fertilizers are tightly regulated by the WA Dept. of Agriculture.  Cattle is one of the top agricultural products in Washington.  Apples and beef.
There are over 9,000 cattle farms and ranches in WA with the average herd size of 40 cattle.  This means each cattle receives more attention in nutrition, health and well-being.  The Dept. of Agriculture has many cattle experts providing free education on healthy ways to raise cattle throughout the state.
WA State also has a Beef Commission, and “The purpose of the Commission is to fund beef promotion, research and consumer education activities supporting Washington State’s $5.7 billion beef industry. 
There is also the Washington Cattlemen’s Association, the Washington Cattle Feeders Association and the Washington Lot Feeders Association from industry to provide invaluable support to the production of healthy and nutritious beef.  Washington is very much a cattle state.
